Yorkshire Choice Award

Yorkshire has the power!

by Northern Life

Over 5,000 votes have been cast in just 48 hours for the Yorkshire Choice Awards, celebrating achievement in Yorkshire.

Recognising local achievers, The Yorkshire Choice Awards aims to honour the region’s most inspirational local organisations, entrepreneurs and individuals.

Having raised over £20,000 for local charities in the last two years, the duo behind the awards – Melanie Malcolm and Jo Maltby are keen to raise more this year for their chosen charity, St Gemma’s Hospice in Leeds.

Melanie Malcolm said ‘We are delighted to support St Gemma’s Hospice who provide expert care for local people with life threatening illnesses, a charity very close to my heart’

‘We’ve had a phenomenal response to the awards so far: proof that Yorkshire really does thrive on amazing people!’ added Jo Maltby. ‘We’re proud to be representing a truly exceptional list of nominees, and the number of votes cast in such a short space of time aptly reflects everyone’s incredible contribution in their community.’

‘Last year saw over 266,000 votes cast in total and it looks like we are set for another explosive year – we don’t choose our winners, you do Yorkshire’

With hundreds of local heroes up for an award, voters can select one person from each of the category sections, although they are limited to one voting form per IP address: no easy decision!

Votes can be placed online at www.yorkshirechoiceawards.co.uk until 16th March 2018

Winners will be announced at a glitzy, black-tie gala dinner on 13th April 2018 at The Centenary Pavilions, Elland Road, Leeds.

Let’s make it happen.
