A stunning five-bedroom gentleman’s residence on West Yorkshire’s Millionaire’s Row is being raffled off online for just £2 a ticket, until October 30.

The ready-to-move-in Victorian property built in 1868, spans across 3,600 sq ft and includes five double bedrooms, four bathrooms and five reception rooms, with large landscaped gardens to both the front and the rear.

Retaining many of its original features, including characterful sash windows, high ceilings, classic coving and grand staircases, it also comes with all of the mod cons you would expect, with a high-spec stylish kitchen and ultra-modern bathrooms.

Overlooking a 30-acre Victorian park and woodlands, the property is in a highly sought-after location, with outstanding schools close by and picturesque lakes and waterfalls only a 2-minute walk away. While for those that need to commute, it’s only a short journey to join the M62 or there’s a local train station within walking distance too.

Along with the property itself, the raffle prize also includes all legal and stamp duty fees, which a huge relief for many, as well as a fully stocked wine cellar with over 300 bottles of vintage reds and whites – cheers to that!

Originally owned by a wealthy mill keeper over 100 years ago, the Victorian property has made a name for itself over the years, having appeared on TV in the ITV drama, Where The Heart Is, as well as the Channel 4 series, Phil Spencer: Secret Agent.

The current owner, Den Goodridge, who has lived in the property since 2004, commented: “The Corby has been the most marvellous home for our family, but it’s the right time for us to make a move and take on a new adventure together.

“Although it was a big decision to raffle off our much-loved home, we’re excited to give someone the chance to win this truly unique Victorian property and make their dreams come true. I’ve also been collecting wine for many years and rather than moving it all to another property we thought it’d be a nice housewarming gift for the new owners – a perfect way to toast their win and new home.”

Den is also using the sale of his home to help raise vital funds for a local enterprise, Leeds Cares for the Clarendon Wing at Leeds General Infirmary. The charity has personal significance to the Goodridge family, having supported them through a particularly difficult time following when Dennis’s daughter fell gravely ill at the age of 8.

Den said: “We were on our way to school when my daughter complained of headaches. It was very unlike her to feign illness or want to miss school at all, so it was a bit of a worry. We took her to A&E where doctors told us just how sick she was – she remained there for several weeks and was even put in an induced coma. It was an awful and scary time.”

Luckily, Den’s daughter, now 13, made a full recovery. “The doctors and nurses on Ward 52 on the Clarendon wing were amazing. I really hope that by raffling our family home, we can raise enough money to help make a real difference to the ward that helped save my daughter’s life – she wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for them.” Dennis added.

Tickets for the property raffle are priced at £2 and entries close on Friday 30October at 9am. For more information or to purchase a ticket, visit
