Springtime | Poetry
by Northern Life
Lily Hyde, Keighley
Seeds planted carefully,
During a roasting, blazing summer’s day,
Darkness all around them,
In cool soil they lay.
Stems creeping slowly upwards,
Trying to reach blue sky,
Absorbing fresh pure water,
Getting extremely high.
Buds shooting sidewards,
Remaining extra tight,
Waiting for that moment,
To open to beaming light.
Flowers beginning to open,
To sounds of bluebirds tweet,
Petals bursting out with colour,
With a fragrance that’s so sweet.
