The Yorkshire coast is set to be a scorcher this summer as the line up for the Scarborough Open Air Theatre is proving to be the best yet – kicking off the season on May 24 with The Beach Boys.
Not only is it Europe’s largest open air theatre but the 2017 line up is jam packed! With a stage on the lake continuing to play host to some of the biggest names in the music industry, you’re certain to be blown away.
The 2017 season welcomes The Beach Boys, Kaiser Chiefs, The Charlatans, Michael Ball & Alfie Boe, Cliff Richard, UB40, George Benson, Tom Jones, Little Mix, Olly Murs, Madness, 80’s V 90’s and Jess Glynne – plus more to be announced!
Scarborough Open Air Theatre is perfect if you like your music accompanied by gentle sea breezes – sitting within yards of Scarborough’s North Bay Beach, with a capacity of over 7,000, the Scarborough Open Air Theatre gives a new and vibrant experience for those who love to see their favourite acts performing live.
The theatre first opened in the 1930s entertaining thousands each night, since then it has undergone major refurbishment, and on 20 May 2010 the theatre was officially reopened by Her Majesty, The Queen. Since then it has played host to some of the music industry’s biggest stars, including Elton John, Jessie J, Wet Wet Wet, James Bay and Bryan Adams.
