POEM: Life After Corona

by Lucia Kenny from Silverdale

He had a dream inspired by her
a new Jerusalem,
but when will that occur?

Wash hands – mask face – make space
Switch phone to track and trace.

Look beyond Corona the alien invader
don’t rely on the vaccine
to be our saviour.

Wash hands – mask face – make space
Switch phone to track and trace.

We’ve got an opportunity to change our ways
it will reshape our future,
so he says!

Wash hands – mask face – make space
Switch phone to track and trace.

He had many visions, does any work?
rules change weekly
too much guesswork.

Wash hands – mask face – make space
Switch phone to track and trace.

He’s lost his mojo, oh what a shame
this is Corona’s fault
she’s the one to blame.

Wash hands – mask face – make space
Switch phone to track and trace.

Inside ourselves we’ve to look for a hero
and keep fighting on
keep the R number to zero.

Wash hands – mask face – make space
Switch phone to track and trace
