Pennines
by Northern Life
By Derry Jones March, Harrogate
I’ve seen them from the east
I’ve seen them from the west
I find it hard to reckon
Which view is the best
I’ve seen the sparkling mornings
The endless misty nights
I’ve walked the hidden valleys
And climbed the snowy heights
These hills still unite us
These hills still divide
Whatever view we take
We view these hills with pride
These are the hills that make the North
And England’s backbone too
Whichever side that you were born
I love these hills like you.
