Adrenaline junkie David Osborn (Oz) is throwing himself out of a plane this July to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK. Colne bloke, OZ, is making a leap 15000ft above the ground for the charity close to his heart. There are many thrill-seeking challenges David has accomplished, but a tandem skydive has been on his bucket list for ten years. The charity event will be taking place on Sunday 4th July 2021 at Grange-Over-Sands through Skydive Northwest. The Northwest Parachute Centre is rated as one of the most scenic skydive locations in the world with views that look over Morecambe Bay and the Lake District.
David will be travelling speeds of 120mph during his freefall before parachuting to the ground. Rather him than me!
Prostate Cancer UK is a charity close to David’s heart and he is completing this in memory of a loved one and for every person who has been affected by a cancer loss. Prostate Cancer affects one in every eight men in the country. The charity fund research into better ways to diagnose prostate cancer, so men can be diagnosed earlier and more accurately and research better treatments with fewer side effects.
He encourages men to get tested no matter what age they are as prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UK. More than 47,500 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year, and every 45 minutes a man dies from prostate cancer in the UK.
David will take part in the exhilarating once-in-a-lifetime experience whilst raising money for a very important cause this summer. Nothing more is inspiring than a leap of faith to make a difference. Do not be shocked if you see David doing something breath taking again in the future as he is always on the lookout for new thrilling experiences.
