POETRY: Out of order – thoughts on the murder of Jo Cox
by Northern Life
You left your life
Out of order
Gone from a world
Ringing with discord.
Left a family
One parent down
One still standing
Getting used to bereft.
Lost your life
Before your time
Before your prime?
We’ll never know.
Left some colleagues
Rethinking rhetoric,
Somewhat apologetic
Too late for you.
Parliament recalled
To recall your memory
Order, order. It was all
Out of order.
