IN PICTURES: Manchester is awash with colour as the Bee In The City trail takes over the streets

There’s quite a buzz about Manchester as a 101 strong colony of giant bee sculptures have winged their way onto the streets of the city this summer. The infamous worker bee, the proud emblem of Manchester, has been given a colourful makeover as part of the Bee in the City trail which has been created by Wild in Art in partnership with Manchester City Council.

The public art trail has seen the brightly coloured bee sculptures land all over the city for visitors to admire. The trail which runs from 23rd July through to 23rd September is free, family friendly and celebrates the unique buzz of Manchester from its industrial heritage through to its vibrant music scene. Each bee has a unique design and has been created by local artists, community groups and schools.

From the Hac-BEE-enda Bee to the LGBTQ+ Queen Bee right through to the Rock and Roll Bee designed and signed by Liam Gallagher himself, there are plenty of bees to see. Can you see and photograph them all?

Here are some of our favourite in our ‘unBEElievable’ gallery…
