Kaiser Chiefs Rock Scarborough
by Northern Life
Yorkshire’s very own Kaiser Chiefs returned to live action and rocked Scarborough Open Air Theatre with a fantastic show last night.
Bass player Simon Rix recently told me just what it meant for the band to get back on stage: “It’s been a long time since we’ve been able to get out there and play in front of people, It’s the things we normally do and take for granted, just to do a gig on a weekend, or whatever. I’m very pleased that we can finally get out there and release all that pent up tension on stage.”
Simon, Ricky Wilson (vocals), Andrew ‘Whitey’ White (guitar), Nick ‘Peanut’ Baines (keyboards) and Vijay Mystry (drums) delivered an explosive hit-packed performance full of their classic anthems Never Miss A Beat, Everyday I Love You Less And Less, I Predict A Riot, Ruby, Hole In My Soul and stunning finale Oh My God.
The show was brilliantly opened by fellow Leeds indie rockers Apollo Junction.
Tickets for all shows are on sale via www.scarboroughopenairtheatre.com or in person from Scarborough Open Air Theatre Box Office (01723 818111).
