The organisers have announced an incredible line-up for the 2021 Lytham Festival. The headline acts are Diana Ross, Lewis Capaldi, Snow Patrol, Lionel Richie and Duran Duran for the five-day music festival from Wednesday 30 June to Sunday 4 July.

“We are so incredibly excited to be announcing our full line-up for the 2021Lytham Festival,” said festival director Peter Taylor.

“Lionel Richie and Diana Ross are two of the world’s most iconic artists and there is no bigger British artist right now than Lewis Capaldi. In Snow Patrol we have one of the most influential bands of the last 20 years.

“Duran Duran are global superstars. It is no secret that a massive amount of Lytham Festival fans have been asking for them to perform on our lovely green for more than 10 years, so we can’t wait to welcome them and the whole of this incredible line-up to wonderful Leafy Lytham.”

Diana Ross headlines the first night of the festival on Wednesday June 30. As the lead singer of The Supremes, Diana Ross became a Motown legend. The Supremes were Motown’s most successful act during the 1960s and one of the world’s best-selling girl groups of all time with hits including Baby Love, Stop! In The Name Of Love and You Keep Me Hanging On.

A hugely successful solo career followed. Ain’t No Mountain High Enough and I’m Still Waiting were among her most memorable successes along with Endless Love, a duet with Lionel Richie. She won countless major awards including a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, a Golden Globe, a Tony and several American Music Awards.

Opening the show will be a set from Radio 1 DJ Adele Roberts, followed by chart-topping Anglo-Italian singer-songwriter Jack Savoretti.

Lewis Capaldi will headiline on Thursday 1 July. It’s been a meteoric rise for the Scottish singer-songwriter with his number one single Someone You Loved nominated at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards for Song of the Year and winning the equivalent 2020 Brit Award. Capaldi also won the 2020 Brit Award for Best New Artist and this year his single Hold Me While You Wait was nominated for an Ivor Novello Award.

Supporting Lewis will be a young rising star with up-and-coming blues/rock and roll artist Luke La Volpe.

Indie rockers Snow Patrol are Friday night’s headliners. Through their 25-year career Snow Patrol have racked up an impressive number of accolades including more than 17 million global album sales and an Ivor Novello award. Their 2006 monster hit single Chasing Cars went on to become UK radio’s most played song of the 21st Century.

Singer-songwriter and musician Jade Bird will open the night for Snow Patrol with Irish rock band Kodaline as the main support act.

Saturday night’s headliner is international superstar Lionel Richie headline who will perform hits from his extensive and much-loved repertoire spanning decades, from the Commodores to the present day. His music is part of the fabric of pop music and Richie has sold more than 125 million albums worldwide and is an Oscar, Golden Globe, and four-time Grammy Awards winner.

Funk and soul icon Craig Charles will opens the evening with a DJ set ahead of disco legend Gloria Gaynor and a set from American girl group TLC.

Lytham Festival will close on Sunday 4 July with a headlining set from British music icons Duran Duran. Since first storming onto the pop scene in 1981 Duran Duran have sold more than 100 million records, had18 American hit singles, 21 single in the UK Top 20 and have continued to perform to huge concert audiences around the world.

Consistently fusing art, technology, fashion and a signature sense of style with their unique and infectious brand of music, singer Simon Le Bon, keyboardist Nick Rhodes, bassist John Taylor and drummer Roger Taylor have shown their music to be timeless.

Special guests for Duran Duran are yet to be announced.

“Live music and entertainment is part of the beating heart of the UK and we plan to make Lytham Festival bigger and better than ever before for 2021,” added Peter Taylor. “We have a line-up filled with world-class artists and really cannot wait for June 30th when can all celebrate together and return to Lytham Green.”
