It goes without saying that presentation can affect how appetising a dish appears; a beautifully presented meal can whet ones appetite, whereas a poorly plated dish can diminish it. Over recent years social media has become awash with carefully composed photos of our fine feasts. It acts as a method of preserving our dining experience, whilst indicating to the world our tastes, class and our sense of refinement and adventure. With this popularisation of ‘foodie culture’, the standards that are expected of restaurants are higher than ever. This food craze has people travelling far and wide to find new and exciting flavours.
