Ahead of International Day of Happiness, The Color Run Presented by Skittles Reveals the Happiest Places in the City As Identified by the People of Manchester.

The Color Run Presented by Skittles teamed up with local bloggers from across the nation to locate the happiest places in every city of its 2016 UK tour. Known as the ‘Happiest 5K on the Planet’, the event celebrates health and happiness through dazzling displays of colour, and will be returning to Manchester on Saturday 2nd July 2016.

This Sunday, 20th March, is International Day of Happiness; a globally recognised and celebrated day. These happy hideouts, would make for the perfect fun-filled day of activity…

For an action packed morning to be enjoyed by all the family, Heaton Park is home to two large playgrounds, a boating lake and stunning surroundings. Donkey rides are a particularly fun activity to try, available at weekends and throughout the summer.

Sitting in the heart of the Northern Quarter, Teacup Kitchen is well known for its hand roasted coffee, creative cakes and laidback atmosphere. With all cakes handcrafted and locally sourced from organic produce, it’s the perfect place for a family stop off or just an afternoon catch up with a friend.

The Trafford centre is every shopping lover’s dream. With almost every shop you could wish for, a large cinema and numerous restaurants, all under one roof, it is all too easy to spend the duration of an afternoon browsing around.

Situated in the heart of Manchester in the ever popular Spinningfields area, Manchester House is a must on the Manchester restaurant bucket list. With panoramic views from the 12th floor bar and arguably the best sirloin steak in Manchester, this is the perfect venue for a special celebratory meal, or just a Friday night out!

For an evening guaranteed to be full of laughs, a comedy club is the obvious option. Manchester’s most exciting venue, The Frog and Bucket is bound to have you laughing until your stomach hurts. This alternative comedy venue has an emphasis on nurturing the talent of tomorrow, priding itself on its amateur stand up nights and brilliant ‘Beat the Frog’ competitions.
