Free Spirit | Poetry
by Northern Life
by Emma Leeming, Skipton
Bags packed and boot full,
Maps sprawled across the dashboard before us,
Our campervan had been bought all those years ago,
Longing for its time to come.
We christened the ignition and drove for miles,
No destination in mind,
We were content with observing
The scenery drifting by.
The music was loud, and the spirit high,
Carefree and relaxed;
We passed through country and country,
Our minds free our hearts full of joy.
Finally we started our journey
Of land and of life
Unearthing
