Filey Bay
by Northern Life
Christina Thompson, Filey
Standing high up on the cliffs,
Looking down on Filey Bay,
Fishing boats on a cobble landing,
Gleam, with many colours.
The deep blue sea comes rolling in
To wash the golden sands,
Visitors, on Filey Brigg, search for Roman coins,
Whilst children search for crabs and starfish
In the rock pools filled with wonder.
Sunbathers lie against Jurassic rocks,
Where ancient creatures once did roam,
Seagulls wheel and call, above my head,
With gold and crimson wings.
