Ruby Tingle – Afterlife Exhibition
Ruby Tingle presents her new work Afterlife, resurrecting The Whitaker’s off show taxidermy collection as new dioramas in a temporary ‘swamp heaven’. The show draws together installation, works on paper, music, scent and performance to create a multi sensory fantasy wetlands.

FLOTILLA: 100 years of getting our ships together. This lovely exhibition showcases our Centenary Flotilla: vessels of all shapes and sizes that feature in our collection. The exhibition has been extended and will run until 32st March 2024. Closed Tues, Wed & Thurs. £3, concs £2, children free.

The Lowry is named after Laurence Stephen Lowry (1887 – 1976) – an artist who spent much of his life in Salford and whose work is strongly associated with the city. The largest L.S Lowry collection in the world on permanent display. Daily 10-minute L.S.Lowry talks on weekdays at 2pm. Free.

Local businesses in and around the Yorkshire Dales National Park are hosting various events to help visitors get under the starry skies and experience the best of the Yorkshire Dales by night. Events and activities that took place as part of the 2023 Festival were stargazing talks with expert astronomers at some of the best locations in the Park, night-time fell running, astro-photography and canoeing in the dark. There are also plenty of family friendly fun such as rocket making, nocturnal wildlife talks, planet trails and dark skies crafts.

This tour will start opposite Dean Court Hotel in Duncombe Place next to York Minster.
