Elsworth Kitchen cooks up a successful first year

Skipton based Elsworth Kitchen is celebrating its first year trading. The restaurant, tucked in the peaceful canal quarter of Skipton on Coach Street, is run by husband and wife team Bruce and Rebecca Elsworth.
The popularity of this friendly restaurant is no surprise; Bruce is an award-winning chef and was previously Chef Director at the renowned Angel at Hetton for 20 years. He has also worked with Nigel Haworth at Northcote Manor. Fans of Bruce’s cooking style will recognise his food at Elsworth Kitchen – local and seasonal, hearty and full of taste.
Keen to provide a relaxed and friendly atmosphere in the restaurant, Bruce and Rebecca have designed the layout so the kitchen area is open enabling guests to see the team at work. Plus, with Rebecca and Bruce being new parents themselves, they’ve made a special effort to make children feel welcome too; there is even a mini kitchen to keep the budding mini chefs busy.
Elsworth Kitchen is positively a family affair with Bruce, who is understandably choosey about his ingredients, often found on his mum’s allotment picking and digging fruit and veg which will be served up later in the day.
Food and drink fans may have also seen Bruce appearing at the many food festivals around Yorkshire where he’s been cooking up some of Elsworth Kitchen’s popular dishes live on stage.
Bruce explains: “We have been made to feel so welcome in our home town of Skipton, it really was the right choice to open here. Launching the restaurant has been hard work but, from all the feedback we have received from our customers, it’s definitely been worth it.”
Elsworth Kitchen has recently launched an Early Bird menu for Friday nights between 5.30pm and 7pm. Tuesday – Saturday it offers breakfasts, coffees and cakes, and lunches, as well as evening meals on Fridays and Saturdays.
