Mary's Shell, Cleveleys, Lancashire
This art installation sits on the beach at Cleveleys near Blackpool and is only a few feet away from the promenade. The sculpture was placed there in 2013 and is a reference to the story of the Sea Swallow.
It makes a wonderful subject to photograph especially when the tide just covers the base of the sculpture. careful placing of the horizon in the image is essential and the end of the curved tip ideally needs to rest in clear air but otherwise, stamp your own mark on it.

'The village is known to be at least 1,000 years old and is mentioned in the Domesday Book. It lies on the south-western edge of the ancient Forest of Bowland. Leagram Park, the site of one of the medieval deer parks of the Forest, is a short drive from the village.'
