In 2021, village residents came together in a unique and admirable display of passion to raise over £450,000 to save the cornerstone of their community from closure, and, in the lead-up to the two-year anniversary of the purchase, the pub’s dedication to embodying the spirit of its community is still clearly at the forefront of everything they do. For over 128 years, the Trawden Arms has offered locals and visitors alike delicious home-cooked meals, friendly service, and a warm and welcoming ambience that will make you feel right at home.

The pub’s inviting atmosphere is testament to the incredibly hard work of lease-owner Jamie Hargreaves and his team, who have worked tirelessly over the past few years to transform the pub into a thriving hotspot for visitors near and far to come together and enjoy good food, good drink, and good times. The building’s 400 community shareholders have clearly influenced and improved the day-to-day running of the pub, and their unique touch can be felt the moment you step through the pub doors – right down to the children’s menu being designed by local primary school students.

“So much of our future plans start with us trying to find ways to thank everyone in the community for their continued support,” Jamie explains, “the pub is better than ever and we are really thriving – but that’s all thanks to them.”

The pub is also proud to offer many enticing deals and discounts throughout the week – from kids eating for £1 with any adult meal on a Tuesday to prosecco deals on ‘Fizz Fridays’, 10p off every pint on Mondays to ‘2 for £22’ burger deals on a Wednesday. All are born out of Jamie’s strong desire to give back to the community that has been so integral to the pub’s success.

As well as tasty, locally sourced pub grub, the Trawden Arms also offers bed and breakfast from £90 per night.
