POETRY: Confetti
by Northern Life
by Jeannette Heywood, Darwen
Light and white, fluffy, like snowflakes.
Flower girls stoop to pluck them for keepsakes.
A rainbow of paper o’er us floats down.
It sticks to our hair, your sleeve and my gown.
Some falls swiftly to ground, a rainbow path we now tread.
Some slowly, gently, flutters overhead.
With each handful blessings they bestow.
For true love between us ever to flow.
A colourful cloud the two of us covers.
Soul-mates, now spouses and forever lovers.
We watch paper charms of good luck glide us by.
Our future wishes and dreams alongside them fly.
