poetry behind enemy line

Behind Enemy Lines | Poetry

by Northern Life

By Douglas Stocks, Rossendale

Was it chance or was it fate
That lured me east to Harrogate?
How was I to know that day
That cosmic forces were at play?
The space/time continuum began to yield
Somewhere close to Huddersfield
And aliens with cruel intention
Came bursting out of the fourth dimension
Now I’m behind the enemy lines
On the wrong side of the Pennines
