21FAST X SLOW FASHION – Shopping for clothes in Leeds 1720 – 2020

Spanning 300 years, this exhibition explores how shopping in Leeds has transformed in both its scale and the way it’s consumed. Find out how the ‘slow’ fashion of the past became ‘fast’ in a world of mass production, changing trends and lower prices. Exhibition ends 29th Nov 2020.

During the 1800s and 1900s industries in the North of England needed labour from outside the UK. Bradford became home to one of the largest Pakistani heritage populations in England. Exhibition ends 31st Dec.

15DAMIEN HIRST – Exhibition

Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Wakefield.

Yorkshire Sculpture Park presents four major sculptures by Damien Hirst in the 18th-century Country Park. Exhibition is on until Apr 2022.

13ANNE BRONTË – ‘Amid The Brave And Strong’

This new exhibition will delve into key elements of Anne’s life, from her childhood at the Parsonage, to how her legacy has been shaped by others since her death. Exhibition ends 1st Jan 2022. Wed – Sun – 10am – 5pm. Booking essential.


National Football Museum, Manchester.

The accounts of designers, manufacturers, artists and experts are woven throughout the exhibition, but nothing tells the story better than the shirts themselves. She wields a hammer. Five centuries of women silversmiths. Museums Sheffield’s Metalwork Collection is one of the finest in the world. It contains the cutlery, flatware and tableware that have made Sheffield famous, as well as beautiful objects collected from every continent. Ends 17th Jan 2021.

This exhibition presents work from the last 4 decades by Ian Beesley, one of Europe’s finest social documentary photographers. Large sale prints include images taken at Salts Mill in the 80s as it slowly shut down, and some from 2017 when Beesley returned to see the building thriving once more.
