Nobut Spring | Poetry
by Northern Life
By Mike Holdsworth, Haworth
It’s nobut spring, it’s nobut weather,
it won’t change your life, at least, not forever.
A little bit o warmth bringing on plants
Won’t mean a lot in your Damart long pants
Tha should wait a bit longer before shouting with glee
Hold on to you woollies and wait and see
Hang on to thee jumper and thick woolly socks
At least until t’day we put for’ad t’clocks
Don’t rush into leaving thee coit back at home
Tha might end up whimpering, shrivelled up like a gnome
Stay covered and warm when tha ventures outside
And let Mother Nature in all things be your guide.
