HECK! invites Yorkshire’s best dressed Dachshunds to Oktoberfest celebrations to compete for the coveted Golden Sausage
Sausage dogs have long been associated with traditional Oktoberfests all over the world and this year a local company is inviting Yorkshire’s furry finest to be part of their celebrations. HECK!’ s Yorkshire take on the traditional German Oktoberfest is back and this year it’s bigger and better than ever. Taking place on Saturday 30 September between 2 and 8pm at the food firm’s Bedale HQ, join the team for a day of Oktoberfest fun filled with superb food, beer and fun for all ages, and live entertainment from the Yorkshire Oompah Band.

Following the fun and frolics of last year’s Dachshund Dash (pic left), this year HECK! is inviting people coming along to the event to bring their ‘best dressed’ sausage dogs, where the coveted ‘Wiener Takes It All’ trophy and some scrummy sausages awaits one lucky Daxie.
“We are a team of sausage dog lovers and thought we’d share some inspiration for other owners ahead of the event” explains team member Ruby Parkyn. “Our models had a lot of fun dressing up and they were perfectly behaved. After all their hard work, they enjoyed some of their favourite treats and got to relax in our on-site dog hotel!”
Fuelled by bangers rather than beer, 10 plucky little dachshunds took to the race-track at HECK’s Oktoberfest to take part in the 2022 Dachshund Dash, HECK’s Yorkshire take on the traditional German Oktoberfest, which took place on 1 October at the food firm’s Bedale HQ. HECK! Oktoberfest tickets cost £20, bookable here in advance and includes 1 x Bratwurst Footlong and 1 x Large Stein of Veltins German Pilsener (2.5 pints) or glass of wine, spirit/mixer or soft drink per person, plus free entry into the Dachshund ‘best dressed’ competition. Children five and under go free and family tickets are also available. Gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan food options available.
