Acclaimed Folk Singer Heidi Talbot Postpones Tour Dates

Acclaimed Irish folk singer-songwriter Heidi Talbot has been forced to postpone her 2022 tour due to COVID-related issues. This includes her 3rd April show in Sheffield at The Greystones. Rescheduled dates are yet to be announced, though all tickets will remain valid for the future shows.
The tour was planned to celebrate Heidi’s upcoming album Sing It For A Lifetime, to be released on 20 May 2, and featuring Dire Straits’ Mark Knopfler and Guy Fletcher, and produced by long-time collaborator Dirk Powell who also features on the latest single Empty Promise Land.
“Due to covid related circumstances, my UK tour is being postponed until later in the year,” said Heidi in a statement. “I’m so sorry to disappoint any of you and upturn plans you may have made. Not an easy decision. All tickets remain valid for rescheduled date or contact venue for refund. I’ll post the new dates as soon as they’re confirmed. xxx”
The postponement will be disappointment to Heidi’s growing legion of fans. She has been nominated for Folk Singer of the Year and Best Traditional Song by BBC Radio 2, Best Live Act by the Scottish Traditional Music Awards and Best Female Vocalist at The Irish Music Awards. She has also shared the stage and recorded with Mark Knopfler, Graham Coxon (Blur), Eddi Reader, Idlewild and more.
Heidi Talbot was born in a small village in Co. Kildare, Ireland, and moved to New York when she was 18. She became a folk star in the USA as a member of the Irish American band Cherish the Ladies before returning to these shores to live in Edinburgh. With a background like that, it’s hardly surprising she should develop a style that switches easily between Celtic and Americana.
With a voice that has been described as ‘mesmerising’ and ‘intoxicating’, Heidi’s delicate re-working of traditional and contemporary material has earned her rave reviews for her records and live performances. She, slips effortlessly between trans-Atlantic musical worlds whilst retaining a personal modesty rooted in traditional folk.
Heidi recorded four solo albums while signed to Nashville based record label Compass Records. In the last four years she has recorded a further three solo albums/EP’s for Under One Sky Records and collaborated with singer/songwriter Adam Holmes to record an album of original material under the name Arcade. More recently, Heidi has co-written and performed on Matt Rollings’ critically acclaimed and Grammy lauded 2020 release Mosaic.
A warm and engaging performer, over the past twenty years Heidi has performed all over North and South America, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Europe, Japan, Australia and New Zealand in the finest Concert Halls and International Festivals and at the White House.
