‘Oh, What A Night’ – Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons Head To Scarborough In 2022

Music legends Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons are bringing their hit-packed World Tour to Scarborough Open Air Theatre next summer. The icons who gave us the timeless classics Walk Like A Man, Sherry, Can’t Take My Eyes Off You, Rag Doll, Big Girls Don’t Cry and December 1963 (Oh, What A Night) headline the Yorkshire coast venue on Saturday 25 June. Tickets go on sale at 9am Friday 24 September.
To date Frankie and The Four Seasons have sold more than 175 million records worldwide and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990. They play to huge audiences around the world and, alongside their Scarborough OAT date, will play two nights at London’s Royal Albert Hall in 2022.
Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons served a long musical apprenticeship, for many years trying to sing their way out of their tough New Jersey neighbourhood. Original Four Seasons members Tommy DeVito and Nick Massi both spent time in jail before the group’s breakthrough hit Sherry in 1962, a story immortalised in the hit Broadway and West End show Jersey Boys.
Following the string of global hits in the 60s, Frankie returned in 1975 with My Eyes Adored You and the theme to the film phenomenon Grease. Meanwhile Bob Gaudio, who co-wrote many of the 60s hits with producer Bob Crewe, stepped back from performing but continued to write more Four Seasons’ hits in the 70s including Who Loves You and December 1963 (Oh, What A Night).
Jersey Boys has also been produced in countries around the world, including Australia, Japan, Singapore, South Africa and Dubai and will continue to introduce the music of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons to new generations.
Frankie now salutes the decade that made him a star with his first new studio album in 15 years. In Romancing The ’60s, to be released October 2, he puts his own stamp on some of his favourite 60s songs, the ones he always wanted to record but somehow got away. Produced by original member of the Four Seasons Bob Gaudio, the album includes unforgettable new versions of such gems as Spanish Harlem, Call Me and Take Good Care of My Baby. And the album features a guest appearance by the four young stars of the Broadway production of Jersey Boys providing background vocals for – what else? – On Broadway.
Romancing The ’60s is a welcome and long-awaited addition to the Frankie Valli legacy. The man himself shows no signs of slowing down. As his character says at the end of Jersey Boys: “Like that bunny on TV with the battery, I just keep going and going and going.” For as long as he wants to sing, people will want to listen.

“Their stage shows are loved the world over and with Jersey Boys continuing to be a global smash hit, bringing the real thing here to the Yorkshire coast in 2022 is just fantastic.”
