Celebrating Peter Green & Fleetwood Mac, Concert Comes to Cinemas Nationwide

An incredible one-off celebration of the early music of Fleetwood Mac will be screened in over 350 cinemas across the country on Tuesday 7th September and Sunday 12th September, as Mick Fleetwood and a stellar cast of guest stars pay tribute to the music of founding member, Peter Green, who passed away last year.
The once-in-a-lifetime celebration was captured at The London Palladium in February 2020, and features a spectacular line-up of musical greats curated by Mick Fleetwood, including Neil Finn (Crowded House), Noel Gallagher (Oasis), Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top), David Gilmour (Pink Floyd), Kirk Hammett (Metallica), Jonny Lang, John Mayall, Christine McVie (Fleetwood Mac), Zak Starkey, Jeremy Spencer (Fleetwood Mac), Pete Townshend (The Who), Steven Tyler (Aerosmith), Rick Vito (Fleetwood Mac), and Bill Wyman (The Rolling Stones).
The house band featured Mick Fleetwood himself along with Andy Fairweather Low, Dave Bronze, and Ricky Peterson.
Tracks performed at the event include seminal Fleetwood Mac classics, such as Albatross, Green Manalashi, Need Your Love So Bad and more.
The Times gave the Palladium concert 5*’s, calling it ‘a unique treat’, whilst The Guardian called it a ‘rousing all-star celebration’ in their 4* review, and The Daily Telegraph hailed the show as the ‘rock ‘n’ roll equivalent of Avengers Assemble’.
Directed by award-winning concert director Martyn Atkins (Joni 75, Crossroads Guitar Festival, Cream at the Royal Albert Hall), the cinema event features an introduction by Mick Fleetwood, plus exclusive rehearsal footage, and interviews with guest artists. Legendary sound producer Glynn Johns, who produced albums for The Who, The Rolling Stones, The Eagles and Led Zeppelin, was in charge of the audio production.
Peter Green was a founding member of Fleetwood Mac, originally ‘Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac featuring Jeremy Spencer’, after he met drummer Mick Fleetwood and bass guitarist John McVie whilst playing guitar with John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers in 1966 and 1967. As blues-flavoured rock music became ever more accessible, Fleetwood Mac were at the very forefront of the late-60s rock movement. They scored modest hits with the bluesy Black Magic Woman and Need Your Love So Bad before the timeless chart-topping instrumental Albatross propelled them very firmly into the pop spotlight. Further No 2 hits with Man Of The World and Oh Well followed before Green withdrew from the band.
Green slipped into a prolonged bout of depression and the band’s popularity waned before the new era, with Lyndsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks, gave the Fleetwood Mac name a whole new lease of life in the mid-70s. Peter returned to the stage in the late nineties with Peter Green’s Splinter and Peter Green and Friends and he passed away in July 2020 aged 73.
Peter was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame together with Fleetwood Mac in 1998. Rolling Stone magazine rated Peter as one of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of all time.
