Celebrating it’s 30th anniversary, re-recorded with all new vocals and 9 piece live band, Alexander O’Neals seminal album ‘Hearsay’ will be re-issued as ‘Hearsay 30’ just in time for Xmas!
Praised by critics for having a voice with the same grain and range as Otis Redding, Alexander O’Neal came to prominence as an RnB singer in both the US and UK territories with a stream of hits and his smash album ‘Hearsay’ that included the tracks; ‘What can I say to make you love me?’ , ‘The Lovers’, ‘Never knew love like this’ & ‘Fake’. Originally signed in his early days by the late legend Prince, he has secured his name in the R&B history books, with a career that has spanned over thirty years. His much loved, chart single and ‘Hearsay’ album track ‘Criticize’ which peaked at #4, is still lighting up dance floors across the world today, with a brand new version out now and taken from Hearsay30 available across all platforms now.
Currently touring in the UK with ’30 Years of ‘Hearsay’, Alex has re-worked this, his most famous, successful solo album, that originally sold over a million copies and went on to peak at #29 on the Billboard 200, and reached #2 on Top R&B/Hip Hop charts.
Originally released in 1987 in Minneapolis assisted by production team Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, ‘Hearsay30’ has been re-mastered and re-recorded in Manchester, England featuring all new vocals, and recorded with a 9 piece band. ‘Hearsay30’ the re-issue celebrates three mighty decades, just in time for Xmas and Alex feels it’s his proudest work to date.
“I try not to get too emotional about things, but I am not ashamed to admit that when I heard the new recordings of all those great songs, it felt incredible man. I never expected we could create something so special, it’s certainly one of the things I am most proud of in my career to date” Says Alexander about his new recording of the classic album.
