Handel’s Messiah performed by the York Minster Choir

The York Minster Choir will be joined by internationally renowned soloists this Christmas for a special performance of Handel’s Messiah in the beautiful setting of York Minster’s Nave. The famous work was first performed in Dublin in 1742 and has since become one of the best-known and most popular English oratorios. Blackpool Music Service’s Annual Christmas Festival

Blackpool Music Service present it’s 14th Annual Christmas Festival at the Winter Gardens on Tuesday 13 December. The event features more than 1,00 vocalists and instrumentalists from virtually every school in Blackpool. A massed choir, choral features, orchestras and bands will play a variety of traditional, modern, film and popular Christmas music in order to ensure you enjoy the start to this year’s festive season. The evening performance starts promptly at 7.00pm and is expected to finish by 9.15pm.

Grassington Singers present their friendly Christmas Concert of a variety of Christmas music and fun, and their usual sing-a-long. Doors open 7.15pm. Grassington Singers will put you in the mood for Christmas.

A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols

Everyone has heard of or seen the famous Nine Lessons and carols from King’s College Cambridge on the TV each Christmas eve. This is the Manchester version! Their nationally renowned choir offer music alongside the Christmas readings to really set the Christmas celebrations going. The atmosphere is amazing and really captures the wonder of Christmas.

Overgate Hospice Choir Christmas Concert

The Choir will be joined once again by the famous Hammonds Saltaire Band under Music Director Morgan Griffiths with international cornet virtuoso Phillip McCann as esteemed soloist.

The ever popular and not to be missed Annual Carol Service aboard the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway is being held again on Saturday, 17th December. Starting at Oxenhope at 19.00, the train travels the Valley with carols, readings and prayers at stations along the way.
