Yorkshire Bridal Hair share their predictions for 2017

Hair today, gone tomorrow

It’s hard to predict wedding hair trends but one thing is for sure, if there’s one thing to invest in, other than your dress of course, it’s your hair and makeup. Your wedding photos are going to be something you look back at for years, and the investment you make in professionals to create your perfect wedding day look is well worth it when it comes to being picture perfect. Here are several styles we are looking forward to creating throughout 2017.

1Half up, half down

One style that will always be in fashion when it comes to wedding hair is the half up half down style.  What’s great about this style is how it can be tweaked to fit with the styling of your wedding.  Add a waterfall plait for a more bohemian look or set curls for a more classic look.

2Embracing the fringe

For one reason or another in the past we have seen brides grow out their fringes specifically for their big day.  Well 2017 will see brides embracing their fringe on their wedding day.  Fringes offer a softness when all your hair is up and allows for all sorts of headband style accessories.

3The modern/classic mix

You want to be on trend but also like a classic style. Well mix it up.  A classic bun can look lovely, but tweek it  and it can look stunning. Keeping it central or moving it over to one side may be enough, but getting your stylist to construct the bun using weaving techniques creates something unique.

4Sticking to your style

This year brides are going to stick with being themselves. Gone are the days of growing your hair style out just for the wedding day. If you’ve got a strong style – stick to it, it’s you!

5Be brave with plaits

Some brides will opt to have all their hair up, and plaits will continue to feature heavily in bridal hair. Be brave with plaits, they offer security for throughout the day and a modern loosened plait with a classic horizontal roll works brilliantly.

6Less is more

This year we will definitely see more of the ‘less is more styling’. The growing trend for hair is keep it simple, add some natural movement and make it all about your statement piece accessory, whether it’s in your hair or a necklace.

Yorkshire Bridal Hair have stylists across the county who will come to the venue of your choice to style full bridal parties and guests as required.
