We’ve teamed up with Sugar Butties to offer Northern Life readers the chance to win a pair of tickets to the Manchester preview of Trolley Girls before they take their act to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Trolley Girls makes a refreshing change from your usual episodic fringe comedy. It takes the
audience on a journey, a heartwarming coming of age story of two best friends growing up in
the arse end of Lancashire. The story jumps from the girls time together at high school to the present day as they both graft full time at their local supermarket, featuring big musical
numbers, multiple comic characters and some top bargains in the freezer aisle. However, the
warmth of the show comes through the story as the audience are able to individually identify
with both characters following their ascent into adulthood. The contrasting personalities form an hilarious clash fabricating ridiculous situations bursting in fun and personality.
“It was a sparkling show with high energy, exhilarating and genuinely funny and warm!” Georgia Rigg
“There was a dark underbelly to it that was very subtle but it adds a poignancy to it without
taking away any humour. Very human and honest!” Hannah Josephine
