This is the perfect time for us to treat our skin, repair our hair and strengthen our nails. Just like our planet is taking the time to heal, we can too. We have collated THREE spa treatments you can enjoy without having to step foot outdoors. Here’s how to indulge in self isolation and have a spa experience at home.

Before any treatments go ahead you may want to set up your station and create a relaxing ambience in order to nourish your mind whilst completing your treatment. You can do this by lighting a candle, an oil burner or playing music to help you de-stress. Rebecca Randall, Spa Manager at The Spa at Bedford Lodge Hotel, suggests: Your sense of smell is one of your most powerful senses and it is actually proven to affect our actions and emotions. You can reduce stress by incorporating essential oils into your daily routine. You can even make your own scented spritz by mixing 10 drops of essential oil and one ounce of water in a spray bottle”.

Treatment One- The Ultimate Daily Facial with Vegan Friendly Skin Care. You can follow the steps with all your own products, but we’ve recommended some of the industry best with the best price tags too that you can take some inspiration from! These are all available online for home delivery.

Step 1. Cleanse – We recommend Elf Daily Face Cleanser 150ml, you don’t have to break the bank in these uncertain times as this is just £5. You apply this like a face wash, making sure the full surface of the skin and neck is lathered up and then rinse with warm water. With RenSkincare, you can get a Muslin Cloth Twin Pack for just £4.50 – these are cruelty free and help with the environment as they are a handy replacement to wipes and cotton pads!

Step 2. Cleanse again! – Double cleansing is a must! Your first cleanse will get rid of any unwanted bacteria and environmental pollution resting on the skins surface, but the second will treat your skin, clean deep and help to repair below the surface. Another great cleanser (which you may prefer to the first option) is Superdrug’s Vitamin E Dual Phase Cleansing Oil. This is just £3.99 for 150ml, great value. The oil element to this cleanser leaves the skin feeling super soft and plump! Again, apply as above and then rinse the face with warm water.

Step 3. Exfoliate – Time to get rid of those dead and dried skin cells to reveal a beautiful new layer of complexion to treat. Sukin Facial Scrub Super Greens 125 ml, £9.99 is not only great for exfoliating but is also detoxifying too. FYI, almost everything from Sukin smells fruity and divine.

Step 4. Tone – After your skin has come into contact with water, it alters the PH balance of it and can leave the texture feeling dry and tight. In order to combat this it is suggested to use a toner, you may even want to add in an extra toning step after your second cleanse too. A great option is The Body Shop’s best seller, Tea Tree Skin Clearing Mattifying Toner 250ml, £6.50, All you need to do is add several drops to a muslin cloth and apply all over the face and neck, being careful to avoid the eyes. This stuff really helps with blemishes and hyper pigmented skin. The tea-tree smell really helps to create the spa feel too!

Step 5. Eye cream –  If fine lines or ageing are a skin concern for you then this is the stage to apply your eye cream. Tropic Skin Care offer an incredible Eyework Rejuvenating Serum 10ml, At a slightly more premium price of £28 this product helps with ageing, as well as combating dark circles and reducing puffiness. It also has a twist feature on the bottle that supplies you with just the right amount of cream for each eye, as over-applying can be just as damaging as not applying at all! This needs to be applied to your eye sockets and massaged along your cheekbones.

Step 6. Serum – This is a little bonus feature if you want to give your skin an added extra boost in vitality. The Ordinary- Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 30ml is perfect for this and is just £5.90 You just need to place a few drops onto your face and massage down to the neck area.

Step 7. Moisturise – Just add a button size amount to your hand and apply across the face and neck. We recommend My Clarins Re-Boost Refreshing Hydrating Cream 100ml, again a little more on the expensive side at £22 but it’s a great investment for your skin. Clarins is not a completely vegan free company but this is from their vegan range. This is hydrating, tightens pores and 89% of the ingredients are of natural origin and delicious fruit extracts meaning it completely replenishes your skin.

Step 8. Glow- Add a radiance cream on-top to give your complexion a little extra glow. Boots- Botanics All Bright Radiance Balm 50ml, £7.99 is the perfect end to this regime. You can feel confident in makeup free skin as your face will be naturally illuminated. This is also great for using as a primer underneath makeup for when celebrating the end of the quarantine period.
