Ashton Market

A traditional market right in the centre of Ashton-under-Lyne, Ashton Market is one of the town’s most popular features. Loved by residents and visitors alike, Ashton Market has both indoor and outdoor markets filled with quality, local produce. With a fascinating range of fresh food including butchers, fishmongers, cooked meat specialists, bakers, greengrocers, sweets and cakes galore, Ashton Market has everything you need to get your food shopping done! There are also stalls selling musical items, clothes, greeting cards, household goods, fancy goods and pet products. With over 80 indoor stalls and a further 104 stalls on the large outside market, you’re guaranteed to find whatever you’re looking for! Oh, and there’s no need to worry about running out of cash – they also have a cash machine available meaning you’ll never be caught short!

The Market Hall is open 9am until 5pm daily except for Sundays while the outdoor market is open seven days a week with the normal stalls available on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. On Tuesday, a Flea Market it held and on Sundays a Table Top sale takes place. On the last Sunday of each month a Farmers’ and Producers’ Market is held, and newly introduced and very popular Cake & Craft Market runs on the third Saturday of the month.

They also run an artisan hospital market every month and look out for their farmer’s market too full of delicious, local goods!
