This Christmas, Emmerdale favourite Kelvin Fletcher (Tin Man) and X-Factor Sensation Holly Tandy (Dorothy) are set for the yellow brick road heading to the Emerald City for an unforgettable adventure, but Dorothy won’t be going anywhere without her loyal companion, Toto!
Is your dog the right fit to join Dorothy and become her faithful pooch this Christmas in hit musical The Wizard of Oz at the Opera House Blackpool from 07 Dec – 30 Dec? We’re sending out a call for all dogs big or small, young or old, hairy or bald, to audition for the chance to star in the North West’s biggest Christmas musical.
Producers are looking to cast 2 dogs in the role of Toto, who will alternate the part between performances. Winning owners will also receive £500 to cover expenses during the run of the show.
Does your pooch have what it takes? You can submit your dog by heading to the website link below and entering your pup’s details. You’ll need to include a video of them at their most impressive, either performing a trick or obeying a command.

Selladoor and the Winter Gardens will also be going on the road looking for Toto as Roadshow Auditions are set to take place in early August in the following towns – Preston (7th), Blackburn (8th), Lancaster (9th) and Blackpool (10th). Times and locations for these open auditions will be released in the coming weeks.
Every pup entered will be carefully considered by a team of creatives and if your dog has what it takes, you will both be invited to the Grand Final to be held in the Winter Gardens Blackpool on Sunday August 26th – which is also World Dog Day. There a panel of guest judges will decide which 2 pups will be heading to the Emerald City this Christmas.
The Wizard of Oz is Directed by Cressida Carré with Musical Supervision by Mark Crossland. Set Design by Steve Howell, Costume Design by Sarah Mercade, Choreography Matt Cole and Lighting Design by Jack Weir.
